How to apply
How do we create joy? How do you define joy? How might we think about joy as acts of refusal, resistance or rebellion? Is joy those small, quiet moments in your life which seem significant to others but are meaningful to you? Does joy bring you into community with others? Or is it a defining moment in which friends can come together? Tell us your stories of joy in your film story. At the heart of the Creating Joy project we are interested in exploring Blackness, community, life and livingness. What does your Black Joy look like?
To apply you need to send us:
- A 200-word bio to tell us about yourself
- Examples of your previous work
- 500- word description of your project. We want to hear your ideas on the meaning, expressions and practices of joy in Black life.
- A visual storyboard
